Gardening Fun

Gardening fun comes in many different ways and one of our favorite ways to have fun is with a planting class.  The staff at Warren’s Southern Gardens has had such a great time with all of the kids and families that have been in this summer to take part in one or more of our fun planting classes.

It has been a blessing to show kids how much gardening fun can be had by planting containers, watching for butterflies, and digging for worms.  If the laughter is any indication a lot of fun has been had as we learned about the life cycle of butterflies, built them a habitat and made a craft to learn about their beauty.  The joy of gardening has been evident on the faces of all of our class participants.

The kids that attended created their own potted arrangements with a little guidance and some help from the adults but not much.

The staff at Warren’s are so proud of how good the kids did and how creative they are.  The kids brought along adults to share in their time and we think they had fun!

Nature's-Beauty-2

The kids classes were new to Warren’s this summer and we are so excited about all the kids we’ve gotten to introduce to gardening.  Although, the classes were new to Warren’s we could tell that the kids are gardening at home or school because more than half of the kids in attendance already had a good idea about what to do.  It was very fun for us to hear the kids explain plants, butterflies, soil, and water needs to us.  So from Warren’s to the adults out there great job sharing your love of gardening and nature with the kids.  If you haven’t had a chance to join us for a class we have a few more classes coming up before the end of summer so take a look at the calendar and see if you can join us.

For all the kids that joined us watch for details of our all new Jr. Gardeners Club coming this Fall!
